The UMBC volleyball team fell to America East foe Albany, 3-1, Friday night at the RAC Arena. With the loss, the Retrievers drop to 13-10 on the season and 5-3 in America East play, while the Great Danes improve to 18-8 and 8-0 in conference action.

Volleyball Hosts Albany and Binghamton in Final Home Matches of 2009 Season This Weekend

The UMBC volleyball team plays host to its final two home matches of the season this weekend, facing Albany Friday at 7 p.m. before playing Binghamton on Saturday at 6 p.m. Saturday night at the RAC is Senior Night, as the Retrievers� four seniors, Kira Giles, Pam Jarrett, Ashley Oscars and Helen Smith will be honored before the match.

Freshman Naomi Bush (Fruitport, Mich./Fruitport) hit an outstanding .643 with nine kills and no errors as the UMBC volleyball team improved to 13-9 on the season and 5-2 in America East play as it defeated Hartford, 25-20, 25-11 and 25-16.

The UMBC volleyball team fell to Stony Brook, 3-0, in the second match of a home-and-home series Sunday afternoon. With the loss, the Retrievers fall to 12-9 on the season and 4-2 in America East play, while the Seawolves improve to 11-11 overall and 3-3 in conference play.

UMBC Volleyball Defeats Stony Brook, 3-0, Friday Night at the RAC

Sophomore Iman Kennedy (Charlotte, N.C./Independence) hit .571 with nine errors against one error as the UMBC volleyball team defeated Stony Brook, 3-0, Friday night at the RAC Arena. With the win, the Retrievers move to 12-8 on the season and 4-1 in America East play, while the Seawolves fall to 10-11 overall and 2-3 in conference play.

The two teams begin in Baltimore Friday to play at the RAC at 7 p.m. before squaring off in Stony Brook, N.Y. on Sunday at 2 p.m. If you cannot make it to the RAC Friday night, the game will be broadcast live at www.umbcretrievers.tv.

The UMBC men�s basketball team will host Frostburg State in an exhibition game at the RAC Arena on Sunday, Nov. 8. Tip-off time is at 4:30 p.m. and admission is free. The Retrievers open the 2009-10 regular season the following Sunday, Nov. 15, when they entertain Morgan State at 3:30 p.m.

For the second consecutive year, �The Randy Monroe UMBC Basketball Show�, will air on Fox 1370 Sports Radio and www.fox1370.com on Thursday evenings from 6-7 p.m. This season, the program will emanate from a pair of local restaurants, Chef Paolino in Catonsville, and Gianni�s Italian Bistro in Halethorpe on most Thursdays at 1:30 p.m.

MASN To Televise Four Men's Basketball Games During 2009-10 Campaign
The Mid-Atlantic Sports Network (MASN) will televise four UMBC men�s basketball games during the 2009-10 season. The Retrievers� broadcast partner will air two games against local rivals from the RAC Arena early in the season. On Wednesday, Nov. 18, UMBC hosts Loyola, and the following Tuesday, Nov. 24, the Retrievers entertain Coppin State. MASN will also air a pair of games as part of the America East Conference�s television package. Those contests are at Stony Brook on Monday, Jan. 18 and at Hartford on Thursday, Feb. 11.
