Bean Places 22nd in Women’s 1-Meter, Eckhoff Takes 24th in Men’s 3-Meter on Day Two of NCAA Zone “A” Diving
CHRISTIANSBURG, Va. – UMBC sophomore Katie Bean finished 22nd in the women’s 1-meter competition and senior Andrew Eckhoff placed 24th in the men’s 3-meter event, on Day Two of the NCAA Zone “A” Diving Meet at the Christiansburg Aquatic Center.
Eckhoff Places 23rd in 1-meter, Bean and Darelius Finish Top-30 in 3-meter at NCAA Zone “A” Diving Meet
CHRISTIANSBURG, Va. – UMBC senior diver Andrew Eckhoff placed 23rd in the men’s 1-meter diving competition, while sophomore Katie Bean and freshman Corinna Darelius both finished in the top-30 for the women’s 3-meter event, Friday at the Christiansburg Aquatic Center on Day One of the NCAA Zone “A” Diving meet.
Seven Retrievers Named to America East Swimming and Diving All-Academic Team
CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Seven members of the UMBC swimming and diving teams, four men and three women, were named to the America East All-Academic Team, the conference office announced on Monday evening. The seven athletes are the most for any school in the conference.
Two Pairs of Divers Head to Virginia Tech for NCAA Zone “A” Diving Meet
BALTIMORE – Senior captain Andrew Eckhoff and sophomore Ryan Green of the UMBC men’s swimming and diving team, as well as sophomore Katie Bean and freshman Corinna Darelius of the women’s squad will head to Christiansburg, Va. for the 2013 NCAA Zone “A” Diving meet. The meet, which will be hosted by Virginia Tech, will run from Mar. 15-17. at the Christiansburg Aquatic Center.
Swimming and Diving’s Katie Bean Named February Athlete of the Month
BALTIMORE – UMBC sophomore Katie Bean of the women’s swimming and diving team was named the UMBC Athlete of the Month for February 2013, in a poll conducted from Mar. 1-11. Bean won the vote over men’s swimming’s Mohamed Hussein, track and field’s Mercedes Jackson and Trae Proctor, men’s basketball’s Brian Neller, and women’s basketball’s Raven Harris.
