BALTIMORE – UMBC junior Mohamed Hussein heads to Indianapolis as the first Retriever male swimmer to qualify for the NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships, when the national meet starts on Thursday, Mar. 28 at IU Natatorium on the campus of Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis (IUPUI).

CHRISTIANSBURG, Va. – UMBC sophomore Katie Bean (Mechanicsville, Va./Atlee) finished 22nd in the women’s 1-meter competition and senior Andrew Eckhoff (Chelmsford, Mass./Chelmsford) placed 24th in the men’s 3-meter event, on Day Two of the NCAA Zone “A” Diving Meet at the Christiansburg Aquatic Center.

CHRISTIANSBURG, Va. – UMBC senior diver Andrew Eckhoff placed 23rd in the men’s 1-meter diving competition, while sophomore Katie Bean and freshman Corinna Darelius both finished in the top-30 for the women’s 3-meter event, Friday at the Christiansburg Aquatic Center on Day One of the NCAA Zone “A” Diving meet.

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Seven members of the UMBC swimming and diving teams, four men and three women, were named to the America East All-Academic Team, the conference office announced on Monday evening. The seven athletes are the most for any school in the conference.

INDIANAPOLIS – UMBC junior swimmer Mohamed Hussein has qualified for the 2013 NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships, becoming the third Retriever to ever reach the national meet, the NCAA announced on Wednesday afternoon.

BALTIMORE – Senior captain Andrew Eckhoff (Chelmsford, Mass./Chelmsford) and sophomore Ryan Green (Ellicott City, Md./Centennial) of the UMBC men’s swimming and diving team, as well as sophomore Katie Bean (Mechanicsville, Va./Atlee) and freshman Corinna Darelius (Rye, N.Y./Rye) of the women’s squad will head to Christiansburg, Va. for the 2013 NCAA Zone “A” Diving meet. The meet, which will be hosted by Virginia Tech, will run from Mar. 15-17. at the Christiansburg Aquatic Center.
