Biography
Kathy Zerrlaut has enjoyed a wonderful tenure at UMBC. She arrived in the fall of 1973, after completing her master’s degree at Frostburg State the previous spring. The Baltimore native coached over 850 games in 24 years at UMBC in the sports of lacrosse and volleyball. Her 1984 lacrosse squad captured an ECAC Division II championship and nine Retriever student-athletes she coached are members of the school’s Athletic Hall of Fame.
Ms. Zerrlaut serves as UMBC's Senior Women's Administrator and its compliance officer. She has been a member of the NCAA Management Council and served two terms on the NCAA women’s lacrosse committee, chairing that organization from 2003-05.
In addition, she oversees the Student Support Service program and handles day-to-day operations of several women's varsity programs.
She was inducted into the UMBC Athletic Hall of Fame in 2006.
