Biography
Former UMBC dance team captain Susan Wojewodzki returns to her alma mater to again lead the dance squad, this time as its coach.
Wojewodzki was a member of the Retriever dance team as an undergrad at UMBC from 1999-2003, and she captained the squad her final two years. As captain, she choreographed and led sideline and timeout routines at UMBC men’s and women’s basketball games, assisted with administrative duties and coordinated special team events.
Wojewodzki has also worked as an instructor and choreographer at Dance Dynamics, where she educated various age groups in fundamental and advanced dance techniques, choreographed group routines for semi-annual recitals and managed the selection and ordering of costumes.
As coach of the team, Wojewodzki says she hopes to “boost the UMBC dance team to the next level and challenge each dancer to reach her full potential on and off the court. We will showcase new and entertaining routines and add higher-energy crowd interactions in coordination with the pep band and cheerleaders.”
Wojewodzki graduated from UMBC with honors in May 2003 with a Bachelor’s degree in theater arts. She currently holds a full-time position as an executive assistant with Ferris, Baker Watts, Inc.
