Biography
UMBC has named Kevin Gibbons-O’Neill its Assistant Athletic Director for Fund Raising, it was announced today by Director of Athletics Dr. Charles Brown.
Gibbons-O’Neill will be responsible for the planning and implementation of fund raising activities and leading the annual Athletic Department fund drive to increase gift support. He will also serve as the coordinator for the department’s special events, including the annual phonathon for athletic alumni, the annual Retriever Club Golf Classic, and the semi-annual UMBC Hall of Fame festivities.
Most recently, Gibbons-O’Neill served as the director of the 2005 Retriever Club Golf Classic, which raised in excess of $30,000.00 for the department. The former UMBC lacrosse four-year letterwinner (1982-1985) has been a part of the radio broadcast team for Retriever lacrosse since 2000. Professionally, Gibbons-O’Neill has been a marketing executive for over 15 years in the Baltimore-Washington, D.C. region.
Gibbons-O’Neill earned a B.A. degree in Economics from UMBC in 1986. He recently received an award as a 10-year adjunct coach (boys’ junior varsity assistant lacrosse coach) at the
