Krenik Named America East Rookie of the Week; Volleyball Wraps Up Road Trip at Binghamton on Friday

Paige Krenik (Foothill Ranch, Calif.) has been named America East Rookie of the Week for the second time this season, the conference announced on Tuesday morning.

In the team's rally from down to sets at Hartford on Friday, Krenik tied a career-high with 18 kills, and added a career-high 22 digs.

The UMBC Volleyball team will wrap up their three-game road-trip against Binghamton on Friday October 19th at 7:00 pm. The match will be broadcast on ESPN3.

Scouting the Retrievers:

UMBC (5-15, 1-5) are coming off a weekend split, where they took a five-setter at Hartford before being swept at Stony Brook on Sunday. Sophomore Taylor Dunn (Virginia Beach, Va.) was able to continue her strong play, finishing with a career-high 50 assists, along with seven digs against Hartford, while in the same match, redshirt Senior Paola Rojas (San Lorenzo, Puerto Rico) was able to notch 20 kills on .400 hitting. In Sunday's matchup against Stony Brook, sophomore Carmen Freeman (Memphis, Tenn.) was able to finish with 15 kills, eight digs, and four blocks.

Scouting the Bearcats:

Binghamton (4-15, 2-4) are coming off a four set loss against Hartford. Kiara Adams  is coming off a 27 assist performance and Adams has reached the 25 assist plateau for the last eight games. Erin Shultz is coming off her sixth double-double of the season, with 12 kills and 11 digs.
