The UMBC Volleyball team will kickoff Homecoming festivities with two matches this weekend at the UMBC Event Center. against New Hampshire on Friday October 5th at 7 p.m.and then host UMass Lowell on Sunday at 1 p.m.
Scouting the Retrievers:
The Retrievers (4-12, 0-2) are coming off a heartbreaking four set loss at 2017 America East regular season champion UAlbany. Senior Kristin Watson (Bowie, Md.) tied a program record with her third career 30-dig performance, while classmate Krystia Negrón notched her tenth double-double of the season, with 14 kills and 14 digs.
Scouting the Wildcats:
New Hampshire (6-11, 2-1) is coming off a four set loss against Stony Brook,The Wildcats are hoping for a strong performance from Gabri Olhava, who is coming off a 19 kill, three block, eight dig performance. They are also hoping for Mali Jereczek to continue on after her breakout performance, where she posted a career-high 34 assists.
Scouting the River Hawks:
UMass Lowell (1-15, 0-3) is looking to break nine-match losing streak. Madi Bell put up 11 kills in their last match against Hartford. Lade Adeniyi put up a great line with seven kills, five blocks, and an ace. Before the River Hawks come down to UMBC, they will make a pit-stop at Binghamton, for a 7 p.m. match on Friday against the Bearcats.
