Trendafilova and Watson Shine on Senior Night, but Volleyball Falls to Hartford

Baltimore -- With the third seed in the upcoming America East tournament already locked up, the UMBC Volleyball team concluded the regular season by falling in four sets (27-25, 25-23, 15-25, 25-22) to visiting Hartford.

The Retrievers finish the regular season with a mark of 17-8, 8-3, while the Hawks improved to 6-19, 3-9.

Senior Zoya Trendafilova (Sofia, Bulgaria / Elisaveta Bagryana), playing in her final match at The RAC, continued her stellar play finishing with 18 kills (.395), nine digs, three blocks and two aces. Sophomore libero Kristin Watson also continued to shine , finishing with 21 digs

Lauren Mortimer (Queen Anne's, Md./Queen Anne's) and Ashley Ramos (Orlando, Fla./Liberty/Monroe JC) each had 11 kills and hit .400 and .391, respectively. Sophomore setters Claudia Lopez (Guaynabo, Puerto Rico / Academia Maria Reina) and Krytsia Negron (San Juan, Puerto Rico / Colegio Adianez) split time and tallied 23 and 22 assists, respectively. 

UMBC will travel to New Hampshire to face second seeded Albany on Friday, November 18th at 4 p.m.
