UMBC Track and Field Continues to Impress on Day Two of Penn Relays

Philadelphia, Pa.—UMBC track and field continued to stand out on day two of the historic Penn Relays with two women's relays and two men's competitors taking to the track and field on Friday. This is the final tune up for the Retrievers before heading to the America East Championships next weekend.

The women's 4x100m relay competed in the Eastern Finals, taking ninth place. Erin Patrice, Amani Wallace, Asha Washington and Kara Patrice took ninth with a time of 47.55 after going 47.57 in yesterday's prelims. Erin Patrice and Kara Patrice teamed up with Tori Johnson and Ariella Garcia to finish 22nd in the 4x200m Championship of America relay with a time of 1:43.74.

On the men's side, Rodney Sachiti led the way with an 18th place finish in the long jump with his best jump coming at 6.72m. Trenson Terry rounded out the field in the 400m hurdles, finishing in 38th with a time of 55.76.

The final day of the Penn Relays commences tomorrow, April 27 at 9 a.m.
