Princeton, N.J.—The women's 4x100m relay team of Mercedes Tillman, Amani Wallace, Kara Patrice, and Erin Patrice set a new school record in the event, taking silver at the ECAC/IC4A Championships on Sunday. The quartet led the Retrievers on the day, as the championship season winds down.
The quartet finished in a time of 46.08, besting their qualifying time of 46.46 set yesterday. The previous school record was 46.19 set by Tillman, Mercedes Jackson, Marie Yuille, and D'Nique Phillip set last year. The 4x400m relay team of Tillman, Essence Fredericks, Yinka Alabi, Funmi Daramola finished in fourth with a time of 3:47.55 as the only other track competitors on Sunday.
For the men, James Oakley III led the track runners with a fourth place finish in the 200m dash finals, crossing the tape in 21.81. The 4x400m relay squad of Erick Soetje, Niko Coaxum, Oakley, and Darrius Oxley finished sixth in a time 3:15.60, shaving two seconds off their prelim time.
Thomas Johnson finished 14th in the triple jump with a jump of 14.28m (46'10.25") to lead the field athletes.
