Women's Tennis Falls at TAMCC

Corpus Christi, Texas – The host Texas A&M-Corpus Christi women's tennis team defeated UMBC, 7-0, as the Retrievers competed in the second of three matches in Texas.


The Islanders captured doubles matches at the Nos. 2 and 3 positions to capture the doubles point.


TAMCC won five of the six singles matches in straight sets. They clinched the match at the No. 6 position as UMBC's Laura Ambrozic (Portoroz, Slovenia) fell, 6-2, 6-1 to Kerry Galhos.


UMBC senior Shannon Cleary (Little Bay, NSW, Australia) captured the first set at No. 5 singles, but fell, 2-6, 6-2, 6-1 to Maider Martin.   


The Retrievers complete play in Texas when they travel to Rice for a Sunday contest.
