Swimming and Diving Earns CSCAA All-America Honors

NORFOLK, Va. - Both UMBC men's and women's swimming and diving teams were named to the CSCAA (College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America) Scholar All-America Team, the association announced on Monday.

The men and women were part of the 688 teams to earn the distinction, the most ever for a Fall semester. The Retriever men finished with a 3.21 grade point average, while the women earned a 3.26 GPA during the fall term.

For a team to be considered, it must have a minimum 3.0 grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) as defined by the institution. The team grade point average includes all eligible varsity student-athletes.

UMBC will head to the America East Championships at WPI in Worcester, Mass. on February 15-18. This is the first time since the 2012-13 season that both the men and women will compete at the same conference championships, with the women looking to defend their crown for the fourth straight year.
