Baltimore, Md.—Sophomore Emily Escobedo (New Rochelle, N.Y./Maria Regina) will travel to Greensboro, N.C. to take part in the 2015 NCAA Championships. This will be the second year that Escobedo will participate at the event.

Emily qualified for the 200 breaststroke competition for the second consecutive year. This is the second year Emily will compete in the event, having finished in 32nd place in Minneapolis. The sophomore touched the wall in 2:11.15.
Escobedo is the third female and fourth overall to qualify for the NCAA Championships. Emily will be the first ever swimmer to make the national meet twice, in back-to-back years. Emily joins Jacque Wisnauskas (1999) and UMBC Hall of Famer Lindsey Prather (2002) to compete.
This year, Emily broke the school record in the 200 breast at the ECAC Championships this past weekend. She touched the wall in 2:09.66, good enough to win the event.
She took home Swimmer of the Year honors at the America East Championships in February, helping the Retrievers take home their first championship since 2011.
