Women’s Soccer Plays Final Road Game against Stony Brook on Sunday

BALTIMORE, Md. – The UMBC women's soccer team will take to the road for its final regular-season road game as they take on the Stony Brook Seawolves on Sunday, October 15. The match is set to kickoff at 1 p.m.



-UMBC fell to 2-9-3 overall on the season and 0-5-0 in America East play after dropping a 2-0 decision to the UMass Lowell River Hawks on Thursday, October 12.


-On the season, freshmen Olivia Bronson (Gaithersburg, Md./St. Andrew's Episcopal), Christina Corbi (Medford, N.J./Shawnee) and Elysia Paolillo (Holliston, Mass./Worcester Academy), and senior Gabby Boehmer (Lebanon, Pa./Cedar Crest) have each tallied two goals.


-Boehmer has played in 68 games so far in her career, three shy of tying for eighth overall in UMBC program history.


-Sophomore Nikki Saad (Hummelstown, Pa./Lower Dauphin) leads the team with 29 shots this season, including 12 shots on goal. She has three assists on the season, to make it a total of seven career assists which is two shy of tying ninth overall in UMBC program history.


-Junior goalkeeper Leah Roth (Valencia, Pa./Pine-Richland) has tallied a total time of 1232:48 in goal for the Retrievers on the year. She has made 61 saves this season, good for a 1.53 goals against average. She now has sole place of 10th overall in UMBC program history for total saves in a career with 160.



-Stony Brook enters the contest 7-8-0 overall and 3-2-0 in conference contests after falling, 1-0, to Binghamton on Thursday night.


-The Seawolves registered 11 shots, with Julie Johnstonbaugh taking a team-high four shots. Goalkeeper Sofia Manner made four saves in the loss.


-Rachel Florenz and Alyssa Francese lead the team with 13 points on six goals and one assist each. Johnstonbaugh has taken 33 shots to lead the Seawolves, 18 being on goal. Kimmy Chavkin leads Stony Brook in overall assists with four assists.


-Manner has started 14 games in goal, making 52 saves. She owns a 0.93 goals against average and an 80.0 saves percentage. Cara Gallagher has played in two games, while Shannon Robinson has played in one.



-Stony Brook leads the overall series with UMBC, 9-6-2. Last season, the Seawolves won, 1-0, in Baltimore.
