BALTIMORE – Registration for Retriever Soccer Camps is now open, UMBC Women's Soccer Head Coach Leslie Wray announced Friday.
"We are excited to announce our 2016 dates and look forward to providing a great experience for our campers," said Wray. "We have been very pleased with the growth of our camps in such a short period of time. We carefully choose our staff, not only as quality instructors of soccer, but who are also great at teaching and nurturing young children and teenagers. All of our coaches, myself included, as well as our student-athletes are very interactive with the campers to provide a learning and enriching experience for campers."
The Retriever Soccer Camp will host two day camps for 6-14 year old boys and girls, June 20-24 & June 27-July 1. The day camp is designed to individual-group ability with a heavy emphasis devoted to technical development. Campers will gain confidence and composure on the ball through our intensive skills training, as well as, understanding how to deal with pressure and develop decision making skills in competitive games. At the end of the week the campers always eagerly await the Olympic or World Cup parade and competition. All of this will be accomplished in a positive, safe, and fun environment.
The Retriever Soccer Overnight Camp is designed for the more serious female soccer player and team aged 10-18 years old. The overnight camp is a more intensive camp focusing on technical and tactical development and providing teams an excellent opportunity to train and bond as a team. The camp will also integrate a recruiting seminar and practice the latest methods in speed and strength improvement and injury prevention.
