UMBC Women’s Soccer’s Gabby Boehmer Named Nominee for AEC Fans’ Choice Player of the Year

BOSTON – UMBC women's soccer's sophomore midfielder Gabby Boehmer (Lebanon, Md./Cedar Crest) was named one of nine nominees for the annual America East Fans' Choice Player of the Year award. Voting for the honor can be done on the America East Facebook page or on the America East website, beginning Wednesday, Oct. 21 and running through 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 27.

Boehmer has had a breakout sophomore campaign, leading the team with six goals and 13 points. The sophomore has started all 16 games in the Retrievers' midfield and ranks in the top-10 in the America East in both points and goals.

Boehmer, who has netted nearly half of her 13 shots, registered goals in each of the Retrievers' first four games of the season. The Lebanon, Md., native has chipped in five points since league play began, tying for eighth in the America East.
