Women’s Soccer Kicks-Off Spring Break With School Visit

BALTIMORE – The UMBC women's soccer team kicked-off its Spring Break with a school visit to Cradlerock Elementary (Columbia) for Read Across America/College Awareness Day on Friday, March 14.

"I am glad that we were able to participate in the College Awareness/Read Across America Day at Cradlerock Elementary," head coach Leslie Wray said. "The experience was mutually beneficial for both groups. The UMBC players enjoyed reading to the kids and connecting with them personally. We look forward to doing more community outreach with local schools and programs."

The team and coaches spent the morning reading books to students and talking with them about their own college experiences.

"It was an awesome and rewarding experience to be able to meet some of the local kids," junior back Morgan Taylor (Severna Park, Md./Severna Park). "They had such positive attitudes and were so excited to have us there to read to them and talk with them about college."
