BALTIMORE- The UMBC women's soccer team (1-9-2, 0-3-0 AEC) dropped its fourth straight game, 1-0 in overtime, at Maine (4-4-2, 2-0-0 AEC) on Sunday afternoon.
Black Bear midfielder Kim Stephenson was credited with the goal after firing in a corner kick that bounced off the hands UMBC junior goalkeeper Christine Bacinski (Hampstead, Md./Mount de Sales) and into the back of the net.
Maine controlled the game as they outshot the Retrievers 23-4 and held a 4-0 advantage on corners. The Retrievers have now gone 395:47 since they last scored Sept. 21 at Sacred Heart.
Bacinski made eight saves for UMBC, while Maine goalkeeper Jasmine Phillips made one for her fourth shut out of the season.
The Retrievers return home on Thursday, Oct. 11 vs. America East foe Hartford at 3:30 p.m.
