Women's Soccer: Retrievers Return Home Wednesday to Host Howard

BALTIMORE--The UMBC women's soccer team (0-4-0) faces off against Howard (0-3-0) on Wednesday, Sept. 11 at 4 p.m. at UMBC Soccer Stadium.

Looking Back: The Retrievers lost twice on the road over the weekend to Drexel, 2-1 in double overtime, and Bucknell, 5-1. Senior forward Jessica Young scored against the Dragons, while freshman forward Meagan Rivera scored her first career goal against the Bison.

On the Bison: Howard is 0-3-0 this year after a loss at home to Florida Gulf Coast on Sept. 9. Freshmen Briana Gamble and Racheal Lee lead the Bison with two goals each. Junior goalkeeper Jessamyn Perkins has played every minute in net for the Bison. Howard is a member of the United Soccer Conference.

Last time vs. the Bison: The Retrievers traveled to Washington D.C. on Sept. 27, 2006 and defeated Howard 4-0. Junior defender Kali Schwartz and sophomore midfielder Arielle Tagger each notched goals in the victory.

All-Time vs. the Bison: The Retrievers are 8-0-0 all-time against Howard dating back to 1988.

Moving Up the Ranks: With her goal against Drexel, senior forward Jessica Young moved into fifth place all-time at UMBC with 23 career goals scored. She also now is tied for sixth all-time with 55 career points.
