—Visiting Maine scored three second half goals and blanked UMBC, 3-0, in an America East women's soccer contest on "Senior Day" at UMBC Soccer Stadium. The Black Bears (13-3-1, 5-3-0) head to the America East Tournament next weekend as the third seed, while UMBC's season comes to an end at 4-13-1, 0-8-0.
The game was scoreless until the 55th minute, when Maine sophomore midfielder Kim Stephenson bent a corner kick over the outstretched arms of UMBC netminder Robin Babaris and into the goal. Less than seven minutes later, junior forward Laura Harper scored the first of her two goals, as her shot from the right wing hit the inside of the left post, traversed across the goal line, before hitting the right post and trickling into the net.
Harper completed the scoring in the 72nd minute, converting on a penalty kick when she was taken down in the box after a UMBC turnover.
Babaris made seven saves in her final appearance for UMBC, while Maine's Jasmine Phillips made four saves in the shutout.
