FOUR DIFFERENT RETRIEVERS RECEIVE AMERICA EAST WOMEN'S SOCCER ALL-CONFERENCE HONORS

Freshman defender Mary Hearin (North Potomac, Md./Watkins Mill) and sophomore goalkeeper Robin Babaris (Ontario, Canada/Sir Oliver Mowat) were selected to the America East Women's Soccer All-Conference Second Team, while senior back Carolynn Patton (Lancaster, Pa./Manheim Township) received Honorable Mention. Hearin was also named to the All-Rookie Team, along with classmate Amanda DiCarlo (Ontario, Canada/St. Paul's).

Hearin, who took a medical red-shirt last year, returned healthy at the beginning of the season and played in all 16 games, while Babaris, who started each game in the net for UMBC this year, recorded 85 saves and a 1.49 goals-against-average.

Patton captained the Retriever defense in 2003, as she started every contest and posted two assists. The freshman forward, DiCarlo, led the team in goals (5) and points (10) despite starting only six games. The rookie also scored the game-winner against Old Dominion, and UMBC's lone goal in the America East First Round contest against Maine.
