Baltimore, MD-For the second time in this young season, UMBC allowed a team to jump out to an early 2-0 lead, eventually losing 3-1 to Georgetown today in a rescheduled game at the UMBC Soccer Stadium. The Hoyas notched tallies in both the 11th and 14th minutes, forcing the Retrievers to play catch-up nearly the entire game. Georgetown junior forward Karin Ostrander scored both of her team's goals in the early going. Her second goal coming as a result of her dribbling around two defenders and beating UMBC junior goalie Becky Hicock with a low kick into the center of the net. The Hoyas would net their third score of the contest at the 52:37 mark before the Retrievers would finally get on the scoreboard. UMBC freshman forward Missy Moore corralled the ball 15 yards from the net and blasted it past Hoya senior keeper Shereena Chang at 62:51 for the Retrievers' lone goal of the day. Overall, Hicock recorded three saves for UMBC while neither Shereena Chang nor sophomore Alexis George had any saves for Georgetown. The loss drops the Retrievers to 1-3 on the season as they will look to the start of NEC play this Friday against Quinnipiac.
