BOSTON - Senior goalkeeper Carly Tolino (Middletown, Md./Middletown) picked up her third America East Defensive Player of the Week award for the week ending April 22, the conference announced Monday. Tolino shares the award with Caroline Hernon from New Hampshire.
Tolino made 10 saves and allowed just five goals in the Retrievers' win over UMass Lowell on Saturday to help secure a spot in the America East women's lacrosse championships for UMBC.
This season, Tolino has made 10+ saves in 10 games, while ranking in the top 30 in the country in total saves (20th, 153), saves percentage (27th, .478), and saves per game (27th, 9.53).
The Retrievers end the regular season on Saturday, April 27 as they head to Albany to take on the Great Danes at 12 p.m.
