BALTIMORE - UMBC women's lacrosse head coach Amy Slade has announced the team's 2019 slate of games, including eight home games at UMBC Stadium.

"We are excited to embark on another journey this season. I think we have some great competitors on our 2019 schedule," said Slade. "Our out of conference schedule brings us some challenging opponents which will prep us for a very tough America East schedule."

The 2019 season begins on the road for the Retrievers as they face American (Feb. 13) and VCU (Feb. 16) before opening the home slate against Mount St. Mary's on Wednesday, Feb. 20, facing off against former UMBC standout and current Mount assistant coach Sam Nolan. A week later, the Dawgs will compete against one of three 2018 NCAA participants on their schedule, as Maryland visits UMBC Stadium for the first time since 2014 on February 27.

March begins with two road games in Pennsylvania as UMBC travels to Lehigh on Saturday, March 2 and Bucknell on Wednesday, March 6. The Retrievers open a three-game homestand on Saturday, March 9 against Temple before beginning America East conference play as they Stony Brook on March 13. UMBC rounds out the stretch against the Drexel on Saturday, March 16.

The Retrievers take a short drive up to Johns Hopkins on March 19 before closing out non-conference play at home against UC Davis on Wednesday, March 27. America East play picks back up on Saturday, March 30 as the Retrievers travel to Burlington to take on Vermont to round out the month.

Conference play continues in April as UMBC opens the month on home turf against Binghamton on Wednesday, April 3. Three of UMBC's games in April are on the road, as they travel to Hartford (April 6), New Hampshire (April 13), and UAlbany (April 27), but the Retrievers will play their final home game of the season on Saturday, April 20 against UMass Lowell.

The America East championships are set for May 3 and 5, with the highest seed hosting the tournament.
