GRAND LAKE, Colo. – Senior midfielder Carolyn Jamison (Westminster, Md./Westminster) was named to the Mid-Atlantic Region Second Team by the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches' Association (IWLCA), the organization announced Friday. Jamison is the first Retriever to be named to the list since Alicia Krause was honored in 2011.
The three-time America East All-Conference selection led the 2018 team with 65 points off 44 goals and 21 assists, while also collecting a team-high 46 ground balls and causing 26 turnovers.
Jamison ends her four-year tenure at UMBC as one of the most prominent players, ranking in the top five in program history with 217 points (second) off 156 goals (third) and 61 assists (third). She was named to the America East All-Conference first team in 2016 and 2017 while earning second-team honors this year. Jamison was also named to the America East All-Tournament Team in 2015 and 2017.
Jamison is one of six recent UMBC women's lacrosse players to earn an IWLCA All-Region honor, joining Krause, Jamie Fahey (2010), Kara Dorr (2009), Ali Levendusky (2008), and Kelly Fiorani (2006).
The IWLCA honored 128 Division I student-athletes with inclusion on one of the eight All-Region teams, with each of the four regions naming a first and second team.
