BALTIMORE, Md. – The UMBC women's lacrosse team will travel up to Emmitsburg for a midweek matchup against Mount St. Mary's on Wednesday, February 21. The opening draw is set for 3 p.m. at Waldron Family Stadium.

SCOUTING THE RETRIEVERS

UMBC opened the season with a 16-3 victory over LIU Brooklyn on Saturday, February 17. It was the first time the Retrievers held their opponents to less than five goals for the first time since the 2016 season, when UMBC defeated La Salle, 19-4. Junior Lauren McDonald led the offensive end with seven points (6g, 1a), while senior Carolyn Jamison stuffed the stat sheets with three goals, one assist, four caused turnovers, four draw controls, and three ground balls. In goal, junior Carly Tolino picked up the win in a five-save effort.

SCOUTING THE MOUNTAINEERS

The Mount used a late surge to take a 12-8 victory over Manhattan in their 2018 opener on Saturday. With the game tied at 8-8 in the final minute of the game, the Mountaineers fired off four straight goals to take the victory. Carly Miller led the team with four goals, including one in the last two minutes of play, and one assist, earning her Northeast Conference Player of the Week honors. Freshman Beanie Colson added three goals and one assist in the win on her way to being named NEC Rookie of the Week.  Jillian Petito earned the win after making eight saves on 16 shots.
