BALTIMORE—UMBC junior midfielder Alicia Krause (Ellicott City, Md./Mt. Hebron/Duquesne) was named to the Mid-Atlantic Region Second Team by the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches' Association (IWLCA), the organization announced Thursday.
An America East All-Conference First Team selection, Krause led the Retrievers with 29 ground balls, 32 draw controls and 20 caused turnovers, and she ranked second on the team with 35 goals, 15 assists and 50 points. Krause also ranked among the league's top 10 in goals, assists and points per game. She scored at least one point in the first 16 contests of the season, posting a team-best 14 multi-point performances, as well as 10 multi-goal efforts and six hat tricks.
Krause is the Retrievers' fifth All-Region honoree in the last six years, joining Kelly Fiorani (2006), Ali Levendusky (2008), Kara Dorr (2009) and teammate Jamie Fahey (2010).
The IWLCA honored 136 Division I student-athletes with inclusion on one of the eight All-Region teams, with each of the four regions naming a first and second team.
