Baltimore, Md.-- UMBC women's basketball closes out their New York road trip against UAlbany on Saturday afternoon at SEFCU Arena. The Retrievers are in the midst of a five-game losing streak after falling to Binghamton 67-45 on Wednesday night in Vestal. Junior Tyler Moore (Portsmouth, Va.) was the only Retriever in double figures with a career high 24 points.

Scouting the Retrievers:
-UMBC comes into the contest at 7-10, 0-4 AE having lost their last five games dating back to Dec. 31. Most recently, the Retrievers fell at Binghamton 67-45 despite a career night from Tyler Moore. Moore dropped 24 points, including 21 in the second half in the loss.
-Sophomore Janee'a Summers (Bound Brook, N.J.) leads the Retrievers on offense averaging 11.9 points per game. She is chipping in a team best 6.3 rebounds per game, the only player averaging over six boards per game. Junior Te'yJah Oliver (Clinton, Md./Riverdale Baptist) is the only other Retriever in double figures at 10.4 ppg.
Scouting the Great Danes:
-UAlbany is coming off a thrilling 63-56 overtime win against UMass Lowell on Wednesday night. The Great Danes were down by as many as 10 in the first half and clawed back to force the extra frame, outscoring the River Hawks 27-15 in the fourth quarter and overtime.
-Kyara Frames is the only Great Dane in double figures at 12.1 points per game. Amanda Kantzy is second on the team at 8.1 ppg. Heather Forester is leading the team on the glass grabbing 7.6 rebounds per game. The Great Danes are averaging just 52.4 ppg while allowing opponents to score 60.1 ppg.
-This will be the 33rd all-time meeting between the two with the Great Danes leading the series 21-11, including wins in 14 of the last 16 and a season sweep a year ago.
-The last time the Retrievers came out on top was in 2017 when UMBC swept the season series with an eight point win in Albany and a three point win in Baltimore.
Moore Where That Came From:
-Junior captain Tyler Moore (Portsmouth, Va.) has seen a rise in her play since being inserted into the starting lineup on December 9. In that stretch, she has four double digit scoring performances coming in four of the last five games. She is shooting a career best 40 percent from three and 38 percent from the floor this year, averaging 7.2 ppg.
-UMBC will host both Vermont and New Hampshire on Wednesday and Saturday next week. The game with Vermont will be the team's annual Midday Madness game, starting at 11 a.m. at the UMBC Event Center on ESPN+.
