BALTIMORE – The UMBC women's basketball team continued its busy schedule of community service with a trip to the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals on Wednesday, Oct. 8.
The Maryland SPCA's mission is to improve the lives of pets and people in the community. They are dedicated to saving the lives of animals in the community.
The players were given a tour before volunteering their time to help the SPCA staff clean kennels and spend time with the animals.
"Volunteering to help animals in need is often overlooked," Director of Women's Basketball Operations Chelsea Barker said. "It was great to be able to help not only the animals, but the staff at SPCA that work so hard to improve the lives of animals every day."
