BALTIMORE - The UMBC women's basketball travels to Vestal, N.Y. looking to build on its season-long three game win streak. The Retrievers take on America East rival Binghamton on Thursday evening.  Tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m. at the Binghamton Events Center.

RETRIEVER UPDATE: UMBC is now 10-8 and 4-1 in America East play following Monday's home win over Hartford, 71-59. Facing a 13 point deficit with 4:47 left in the first half, the Retrievers went on 17-1 run to end the half and never trailed again in the game.

Guard Lauren Chase, who was named America East Rookie of the Week for the second consecutive week on Monday, scored a career-high 18 points and recorded seven assists in the win. JuniorKristin Coles registered a double-double for the second straigh game, scoring 10 points and grabbing 11 rebounds against the Hawks.

Forward Erin Brown tied a season-best with a game-high 24 points while guard Michelle Kurowski added 13 points for the Retrievers. Brown and Kurowski are two of just 12 Retrievers ever in the 1,000-point/500-rebound club. UMBC is the preseason favorite to win the America East Conference after winning the 2011 regular-season title with a 13-3 record in league play. The Retrievers posted a 20-12 overall mark, matching the school record for wins in a season, and earned a berth in the WNIT after falling to Hartford in the conference semis.

BEARCAT UPDATE: Binghamton sits at 8-10 and 2-3 in conference play after having the league bye on Monday. Senior Andrea Holmes, who ranks second on the America East active scoring list behind Kurowski, leads the Bearcats in scoring, averaging 14.2 points per game this season. Binhgamton was picked to finish fourth in the America East preseason poll, behind of only UMBC, Boston U and Hartford.
