BALTIMORE—The UMBC women's basketball team is ranked 15th in the most recent CollegeInsider.com Mid-Major Top 25, which was released Tuesday evening. The position is a six-spot improvement from the Retrievers' preseason ranking of 21st and represents the greatest jump of any team in the poll.
Off to their first 2-0 start since 2005 with wins over Morgan State and Monmouth last weekend, the Retrievers received 297 points to crack the top 20 for the first time.

Both teams are up one spot from the preseason poll. In addition, America East rivals Hartford and Boston University are both receiving votes, as is High Point, who the Retrievers will face on the first day of the Hilton Garden Inn Hokie Classic on Dec. 28.
