, Va.—UMBC sophomore forward Meghan Colabella (Montclair, N.J./Montclair) was selected to the Marriott Cavalier Classic All-Tournament Team, the University of Virginia announced Monday evening.
Colabella averaged 12.5 points and 14.0 rebounds in two games at the classic while adding five assists, five steals and four blocks. She scored 10 points to go along with a team-high eight rebounds, three blocks, three assists and two steals against Louisiana Tech on Sunday, then tallied her third career double-double with 15 points and a career-high 20 rebounds against Rider on Monday. The 20 rebounds were the most by a Retriever since 1999. She added a block, two assists and three steals against the Broncs.
Colabella was joined on the All-Tournament Team by Tammy Meyers of Rider, Shanavia Dowdell and Whitney Jones of Louisiana Tech and Monica Wright of Virginia. The Cavaliers' Lyndra Littles was named the Most Valuable Player.
The Retrievers lost to Louisiana Tech, 83-62, on Sunday, before defeating Rider, 76-55, in Monday's consolation game. Host Virginia won the tournament by defeating the Lady Techsters, 68-52, in the championship game.
