UMBC Women’s Basketball Signs Junior College Standout Chantay Frazier

Baltimore-UMBC head women's basketball coach Phil Stern announced today that junior college standout Chantay Frazier has signed a National Letter of Intent to join the Retrievers in the fall.

Frazier, a 5-foot-8 guard from Carthage, Miss., averaged 12.2 points and 6.2 rebounds last season at Seminole State College in Seminole, Okla. She tallied 44 steals and 112 assists while committing only 67 turnovers, and she shot 44.4 percent from the floor, including 38.5 percent from three-point range.

Frazier was selected to the all-conference and all-region first team and the all-tournament team, as she led the Belles to the Bi-State West Conference title.

"Chantay's experience and court savvy will bring added depth to our already strong back court," Stern said.
