Softball Heads to New York for Series at Binghamton

The UMBC Softball team will head to upstate New York to face two-time defending America East regular season champion Binghamton beginning on Saturday at 1:30 pm

Carly Lesko (New Milford, NJ) and Tori Alexander (Woodbridge, Va) each pounded out five hits as UMBC (6-21, 1-2) opened conference play by taking one of three against UMass Lowell last weekend. Scouting the Bearcats

This will be the first conference action of the season for Binghamton (7-13). All three games in the series will be played at Chenango Valley High School. Jessica Rutherford leads BU with a .371 average, while Kate Richard is batting .328 with five homers and 17 RBI (both team-bests). The pitching staff has a combined 4.25 ERA and Bel Air native Rayn Gibson anchors the staff with a team-high 46.2 innings pitched and a 4.35 ERA.

Saturday's Doubleheader will begin at 1:30, while the series finale will be on Sunday at Noon.
