Vestal, N.Y. – Senior pitcher/outfielder Kelly Lane (Albany, N.Y./Colonie Central) was named to the America East All-Tournament team, the conference announced on Sunday night.
In the two games UMBC (22-30) would play, Lane would hit 2-for-5, scoring a run in the opening round game against No. 4 Albany and pitching masterfully in the elimination game against No. 3 Stony Brook.
Lane has left her mark on the UMBC softball team over her four years in the black and gold. She ended her career on an eight-game hitting streak, where she batted .435 (10-23) with a home run and two RBI. She also walked more times this season than any other batter in the America East.
During her freshman year, she pitched the only perfect game in program history in a victory at Maryland Eastern Shore.
UAlbany took the America East title over Maine in the deciding game of the tournament on Sunday afternoon.
