Lane Named America East Player of the Week; Jackson Earns College Sports Madness Honor

Boston, Mass. -- Senior outfielder/pitcher Kelly Lane (Albany, N.Y./Colonie Central) has been named America East Player of the Week, the conference announced Tuesday morning.

Lane registered a 1.295 OPS in leading UMBC to a 5-1 week last week. She reached base 12 times in 22 plate appearances and had five RBI, including her first two homers of the season. The senior also picked up her first pitching victory of the season against Coppin State on Thursday. 

Also on Tuesday morning, College Sports Madness named senior Kaelin Jackson (Export, Pa./Franklin Regional) its America East Player of the Week. Jackson hit .294 with five runs scored, a homerun and a team-best eight RBI. 

The Retrievers open up conference play on Saturday with a home doubleheader against Binghamton.
