BALTIMORE – UMBC Softball Head Coach Joe French has released the squad's 2015 fall schedule. The Retrievers have a pair of home tournaments, their annual alumni game, two dates for fall clinics and the Seventh Annual Fall Scholastic Tournament.

The Retrievers open the fall with a pair of home tournaments at the UMBC Softball Stadium, starting with the UMBC Fall Kickoff. The three-team tournament will welcome Towson and Hampton to Baltimore with matchups set for 10:45 a.m., 1 p.m. and 3:15 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 19. The Retrievers host Morgan State and Mount St. Mary's on Saturday, Sept. 26 for the UMBC Fall Harvest Classic with games running at 10:45 a.m., 1 p.m. and 3:15 p.m. at UMBC Softball Stadium.

The following weekend (Oct. 3), the Retrievers hit the road for the Towson Classic, where the black and gold will take on the host Tigers and Georgetown.

UMBC softball's alumni game is set for homecoming weekend. First pitch is slated for noon on Saturday, Oct. 10 at UMBC Softball Stadium.

The Retrievers' fall ball schedule concludes with a doubleheader against Morgan State on Sunday, Oct. 18 at UMBC Softball Stadium. First pitch is set for noon.

UMBC also has a pair of clinics set for Sunday, Oct. 11 and Saturday, Oct. 17. Both are for girls ages 13-17 and will run from 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. at UMBC Softball Stadium. The cost is $60 per person for advanced registration and or $65 per person at the door. For those registering for both clinics by Saturday, Oct. 10 the price will be $50 per clinic ($100 for both).

UMBC is now accepting applications for the seventh-annual UMBC Fall Scholastic Classic. The first 10 teams entered and paid in full will be admitted to participate in this tournament that is open to all 16-U and 18-U travel softball teams.

Local college coaches within driving distance will be invited to attend. In the past five years, the tournament has had a variety of Division I, II and III universities and numerous community colleges. Funds raised will be administered by the UMBC Foundation Inc, for the benefit of UMBC softball or by the university.

Tournament Information
-Food and beverage will be provided to all college coaches attending.
-All games will be six innings, or "drop-dead" at 60 minutes
-Each batter will start with a 1-and-1 count.
-Concessions will be available for purchase
-All games will be announced, and music will be played between inning and game.
-All games will be played at UMBC Softball Stadium.
-Parking will be in the Research Technology parking lot next to the field.
