BOSTON – UMBC softball's Tori Alexander (Woodbridge, Va./Woodbridge Senior) earned her second straight America East Rookie of the Week honor, as announced by the conference office on Tuesday.
The honor is the second straight for the rookie and her third of the season as she helped guide the Retrievers to a 3-1 week. Alexander registered a team-best .812 slugging percentage for the week, which included the first two home runs of her career in a 5-1 victory against UMass Lowell on Friday.
The freshman drove in a team-best nine runs on the week and added three stolen bases. Alexander batted .438 and crossed the plate six times en route to the Retrievers improving to 6-0 in America East play.
