LAS VEGAS – UMBC Softball Head Coach Joe French received recognition at the annual National Fastpitch Coaches Association after earning his 600th-career victory as a head softball coach during the 2014 campaign.
French and fellow NFCA coaches were honored for their milestone victories during the Easton Victory Club luncheon on Thursday, Dec. 4.
"I wouldn't have been able to accomplish this milestone without the support of my current and past administrators, assistant coaches and players," said French.
"I have been very blessed to also have the total support of my family to have a job that they have supported me with on a daily bases year after year," French continued. "A job I truly love day after day and year after year."
French is the Retrievers' all-time winningest softball coach, tallying 388 victories since joining the program. He has recorded 602 victories in 21 seasons as a softball head coach, with his 600th win coming against Hartford on April 27, 2014 (7-5).
