Prodanas, Kamtsiklis Lead UMBC Track and Field on Final Day of Penn Relays

Philadelphia, Pa.—Alexios Prodanas and Manos Kamtsiklis led the Retrievers on the final day of the 125th Penn Relays on Saturday. Prodanas and Kamtsiklis were two of four individual athletes and one relay that competed on Saturday.

Prodanas took silver in the hammer throw championship with a toss of 63.84m. Kamtsiklis finished just behind him in sixth with a throw of 61.19m. Rodney Sachiti and Jameer Robinson also competed in field events, taking 17th in the triple jump (13.01m) and 20th in the javelin (50.52m) respectively.

The 4x800m relay team of Miles Smith, Taylor Baranoski, Erik Jenks and Joe Viqueira took ninth with a time of 7:48.07 to round out the field.

UMBC will now head to Albany next weekend for the America East Outdoor Championships. Both Saturday and Sunday will air on AmericaEast.tv.
