2016 Outdoor: Set school records in both the 5,000m and 10,000m runs during his final season at the Penn Relays (14:08.93) and the Raleigh Relays (29:31.05)... Was named Most Outstanding Track Performer at the America East Championships after winning both the 5k and 10k at the championships... Also ran in the 1,500m run with his best time coming at the Larry Ellis Invite in a time of 3:55.44... America East All-Academic Team... USTFCCCA All-Academic.
2015-16 Indoor: Started his senior campaign where he left off from the year before... Was named America East Most Outstanding Track Performer and Co-Coaches Award after winning both the 3,000m and 5,000m at the championships... Set a season and career best in the mile at the Penn State Relays with a time of 4:10.97... Reset the school record in the 3,000m run at the Sykes and Sabock Challenge with a time of 8:05.13... Had a season best time in the 5,000m at the championships in a time of 14:33.97... America East All-Academic Team.
2015 Outdoor: Had one of his best seasons as a Retriever during the 2015 outdoor season... Competed in three different events during the season... Ran a season best in the 800m at the Big Dawg Invitational with a time of 2:03.52... Won a pair of events at the America East Championships, helping the Retrievers to a second place finish... Won the 5,000m (14:40.90) and the 10,000m (31:36.82), with the 10,000m being a season best... Went on to set a personal best in the 5,000m at the IC4A Championships with a time of 14:13.94... Qualified for the NCAA Preliminaries in the 5,000m... Named Most Outstanding Track Performer... Named America East All-Academic Team... Named to America East Honor Roll.
2014-15 Indoor: Set the school record in the 3,000m and 5,000m runs during his junior campaign... He set the 3,000m record at the Sykes & Sabock Challenge with a time of 8:18.07... He would go on later in the season to win the 3,000m at the America East Championships, crossing the tape in a time of 8:26.57... At the same meet, he would go on to break the school record in the 5,000m run, finishing with a time of 14:29.20 winning the gold medal.
2014 Outdoor: Won a silver medal in the 10,000m run at the 2014 America East Outdoor Track and Field Championships at Vermont… Posted a career-best time of 30:29.58 at the Colonial Relays at William and Mary to qualify for the IC4A Championships and move up to second in the program record book… Placed fifth in the 5,000m event at the conference meet… Posted a top career time of 14:21.69 in the 5k at the Larry Ellis Invitational at Princeton, the second-fastest time in UMBC history… The time also qualified him for the event at the IC4A meet where he finished 25th… Named to the America East Commissioner’s Honor Roll.
2013-14 Indoor: Broke the UMBC school record for both the 3,000m and 5,000m events… Snapped the program mark for the 3k event initially at the NYU Team Challenge with a time of 8:23.50, and then lowered it to 8:22.56 while winning a bronze medal at the 2014 America East Indoor Track and Field Championships… Reset the Retriever mark for the 5k at the Armory Collegiate Invitational with a time of 14:32.71 good for the runner-up spot, and then broke it again at the IC4A Championships in Boston by clocking in at 14:30.04… Placed 15th in the event at the conference meet in New York.
2013 Outdoor: Won the conference title in the 10,000m run at the 2013 America East Outdoor Championships… Also won the event at the Duke Invitational while capturing the 5,000m run title at the Morgan State Legacy Meet… Posted a career-best 10k time of 30:39.70 at the IC4A Championships to move into second-place all-time in school history… Ranks fourth in program history in the 5k event after recording a career-best time of 14:46.55 at the Mason Invitational... Named to the America East Honor Roll.
2012-13 Indoor: Took fifth in the 5,000m run and 15th in the 3,000m run at the 2013 America East Indoor Championships… Posted a season-best time of 14:52.37 in the finals of the 5k race to jump to third all-time, at the time, in the school record book… Ranked ninth in school history in the 3,000m event with his time of 8:35.01 during a second-place finish at the Penn State Relays.
Background: Named to both the All-State and All-Metro First Team as a senior in 2011... Helped lead Thomas Johnson to its third straight 4A Maryland State Track and Field Championship... Recorded his top performance during his junior year at the state meet when he ran the 1600m in 4:23 and the 3200m in 9:28.
