Schuler, Luckin, Omar Earn America East All-Academic Honors
A trio of UMBC track and field student-athletes earned spots on the All-Academic team, as announced by the conference on Tuesday. Senior Eric Schuler (Columbia, Md./Reservoir), sophomore Jon Luckin (Parkton, Md./Hereford), and junior Hassan Omar (Frederick, Md./Thomas Johnson) earned the awards after excelling in both the classroom and on the track.

The UMBC track and field team completed the second day of the ECAC/IC4A meet on Saturday. Several Retrievers qualified for final heats on Sunday, as UMBC wraps up the 2015 outdoor season.

BOSTON - The America East Conference announced today that UMBC track and field standout Yao Adantor (Laurel, Md./Reservoir) has been named a finalist for the 2014-2015 America East Man of the Year award.

Retrievers Head to Princeton for ECAC/IC4A Championships
UMBC track and field will head to New Jersey for the ECAC/IC4A Championships this weekend. Mercedes Jackson and Hassan Omar took home Most Outstanding Track Performers at the America East Championships two weeks back. Junior Daryian Miles won the Elite 18 Award at the meet, as the Retriever men and women finished in second place, their best finish in program history.

The UMBC track and field team concluded the America East Championships on Sunday in Albany. Both the men and the women finished in second place, their best finishes at the meet in program history.

UMBC Track and Field Off to Strong Start at America East Championships
The UMBC track and field team got off to a strong start after day one in Albany. Several Retrievers qualified for final heats tomorrow. After day one, the women are in fourth with 36 points, and the men are in fifth with 28 points.

UMBC Track and Field Heads to Albany for America East Championships This Weekend
UMBC track and field will head to the Empire State, looking to bring home a conference championship this weekend. At last year’s meet, the men finished second while the women took home fourth. Mercedes Jackson took home Most Outstanding Track Performer, as well as the Coaches’ Award.

The UMBC track and field team heads to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania for the iconic Penn Relays on April 23-25. The relays will be held at Franklin Field, at the University of Pennsylvania. This will be the final tune-up before the America East Championships.

Izudin “Izzy” Mehmedovic has been named as one of six former Retriever student-athletes that will be inducted into the UMBC Athletics Hall of Fame on Saturday, Jan. 31. A dinner and subsequent ceremony will take place, beginning at 6 p.m., at the Westin BWI Airport Hotel.

UMBC’s Adantor Registers National Record at African Championships
UMBC track and field fifth-year senior Yao Adantor (Laurel, Md./Reservoir/Morgan St./Maryland) represented his home country of Togo in the African Championships on Sunday, Aug. 10 and broke a national record in the shot put with a throw of 16.33m.
