BALTIMORE – For the first time in school history, UMBC is sending three individual track and field athletes to the NCAA Preliminaries as junior Amanda Deller (Aberdeen, Md./Aberdeen), sophomore Brandan McGee (Hiram, Ohio/Crestwood) and freshman Mercedes Jackson (Huntingtown, Md./Huntingtown) head to Jacksonville, Fla. for this weekend’s meet.
PRINCETON, N.J. – Junior Amanda Deller (Aberdeen, Md./Aberdeen) and freshman Mercedes Jackson (Huntingtown, Md./Huntingtown) each picked up another top-10 finish as the UMBC track and field teams competed at the regional ECAC and IC4A Championships held at Princeton this weekend.
ORONO, Maine – Track and field freshmen Malte Bertram (Einbeck, Germany/Goethschule Gymnasium) and Mercedes Jackson (Huntington, Md./Huntington) were each named Most Outstanding Rookie for their respectively competitions as the UMBC track and field teams competed at the America East Championships at the University of Maine this weekend.
