COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - The UMBC men's and women's swimming and diving teams have been named College and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) Scholar All-America teams, the association announced Monday.
The men and women were part of a record 777 teams to earn the distinction for the Spring 2019 semester. The Retriever men posted a team GPA of 3.30, which was the highest men's GPA in the UMBC athletics department this season, while the women posted a 3.24 team GPA.
For a team to be considered, it must have a minimum 3.0-grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) as defined by the institution. The team grade point average includes all eligible varsity student-athletes.
