2011-12: Mid-Major All-American Honorable Mention... Named the America East Most Outstanding Male Swimmer at the conference championship meet in Boston... Won three individual gold medals for the Retrievers at the championships, each in record time... Broke the conference, pool and UMBC record in the 200-yd. IM with a time of 1:47.64... Set a new UMBC record in the 200-yd. back with a time of 1:46.70... Initially broke the conference pool record in the 100 back (48.92) and then set the mark even lower and broke the school mark with his 48.66 split as a part of the silver medal winning 400 medley relay... Also helped the 200 medley relay team claim gold at the conference meet... Won eight individual events in just three dual meets after transferring mid-year... Also helped the 200 medley team claim first against local rivals Loyola and Towson.

Background:  Owns the Egyptian national record in the 200m IM... Nearly qualified for the 2012 Summer Olympics in the 200m IM and 100m free for Egypt... Helped the Egyptian National Team win gold in the 400 medley relay at the 2011 Pan-Arab Games... Nearly qualified for the 2012 Summer Olympics in the 100 free and 200 IM.
