CAMBRIDGE, Mass.—Freshman Johan Rohtla (Tallinn, Estonia/Tallinn Secondary Science) has been named the America East Male Swimmer of the Week for the week ending Oct. 24, as announced by the conference Tuesday. Rohtla becomes the first Retriever freshman since teammate Brad Reitz (Ellicott City, Md./Howard) won the weekly award on Nov. 20, 2007.

Rohtla won both of his individual events against Navy Friday afternoon, including the 100-meter backstroke in 57.44 and the 200-meter backstroke in 2:04.31. Rohtla has not lost in either the 100- or 200- backstroke this season, whether it be in yards or meters. He is the third Retriever swimmer to win Male Swimmer of the Week this season, with senior Eric Jones (Gambrills, Md./Arundel) claiming the first two weekly awards.
