Baltimore, Md.-- UMBC men's soccer will close out the regular season at first place Stony Brook on Wednesday night. The Retrievers clinched a spot in the upcoming #AEMSOC Tournament despite a 2-0 loss to UAlbany on Saturday. The Retrievers can still reach as high as third place with a win on the final day of conference play.

Scouting the Retrievers:
-UMBC heads into the regular season finale at 9-5-2, 3-3-0 AE on the year, after their six game unbeaten streak was snapped in a 2-0 loss to UAlbany on Saturday. The Retrievers did clinch a spot in the upcoming America East Tournament despite the loss and can finish anywhere from 3-6 in the tournament seeding.
-Cesare Marconi (Loano, Italy) leads the Retriever offense with five goals and four assists for 14 points. He has taken a team best 55 shots with 22 shots on goal. Matt Bailey (Stevensville, Md./Saints Peter and Paul) is second on the team in goals and points with nine.
-Freshman Quantrell Jones (Baltimore, Md./Kenwood) has started the last seven games in net, sporting a 6-1-1 record on the year. He has given up just six goals (0.67 GAA) making 26 saves (.812 save pct) with four shutouts on the year.
Scouting the Seawolves:
-The Seawolves enter the contest at 8-5-2, 5-1-0 AE on the year, and have clinched at least a share of the America East Regular Season title with a 6-0 win against Hartford on Saturday. The Seawolves are 5-2-0 at LaValle Stadium this year.
-Serge Gamwanya leads the offense with six goals and three assists for 15 points. Jarred Dass and Martieon Watson have also reached double digit points with Dass nettings 12 (5 G, 2 A) and Watson with 10 (2 G, 6 A). In total, five Seawolves have double digit goals on the year.
-Christian Miesch has seen the majority of time in net for Stony Brook, starting in all 14 games he has played. He has given up 15 goals (1.07 GAA) making 47 save (.758 save pct) with four shutouts on the year.
-This will be the 20th meeting all-time between the Retrievers and Seawovles with UMBC holding a slim 11-8-0 advantage in the series.

They can also be the four seed with a draw or loss and a UMass Lowell draw or loss AND UAlbany draw or loss. (UMBC has the tiebreaker with UMass Lowell, not UNH or UAlbany).
-UMBC will be the five seed with a loss AND UMass Lowell and UAlbany win. The Retrievers will be the six seed with a loss AND wins by UMass Lowell and UAlbany.
