Baltimore, Md.—UMBC men's soccer heads to the City of Brotherly Love to face the Quakers on ESPN+ on Tuesday night. The Retrievers are coming off a big 3-1 victory against UMass Lowell on Saturday night. Sophomore Matt Bailey (Stevensville, Md./Saints Peter and Paul) scored his first two collegiate goals in the match to propel the Retrievers to victory.

Scouting the Retrievers:
-UMBC comes into the contest at 5-4-1 on the year, and are coming off a 3-1 win against America East foe UMass Lowell this past Saturday. Bailey scored twice, with Kyle Saunderson (Laurel, Md./Reservoir) adding a tally in the win.
-Cesare Marconi (Loano, Italy) leads the Retriever offense with nine points on three goals and three assists. Tre Pulliam (Baltimore, Md./Archbishop Curley), Saunderson and Bailey are tied for second on the team with five points, each scoring two goals with one assist.
-In net, Quantrell Jones (Baltimore, Md./Kenwood) got the start in net against the River Hawks, and is 2-0-0 on the year. He has given up just two goals for a goals against average of 0.80 making eight saves with one shutout. He was named America East Rookie of the Week for his performance against the River Hawks on Saturday.
Scouting the Quakers:
-Penn comes into the contest at 2-3-3 on the year, most recently falling to Columbia in Ivy League action on Saturday, 2-0. Their last win came back on Sept. 7 in a 1-0 victory at Marquette. The Quakers are 0-2-2 in their last four.
-Penn has scored just four goals on the year, with Alex Touche scoring two of the four. Jerel Blades and Joey Bhangdia have the other goals for the Quakers.
-Scott Forbes has started in every game for Penn, giving up seven goals and making 39 saves with four shutouts on the season.
-The Retrievers and Quakers will be meeting for just the fourth time with the Retrievers holding a 2-1 lead in the all-time series.
-The two have not played each other since the 1999 season. UMBC recorded a 3-1 win in '99 and a 2-1 victory in '98.
Jones Earns #AEMSOC Rookie of the Week Honors:
-Quantrell Jones earned his first America East Rookie of the Week honor, the conference announced on Monday. Jones gave up just one goal and made four saves against UMass Lowell on Saturday, earning his second win of the year.
-He is the second Retriever rookie to earn the award, joining Jackson Becher (Hummelstown, Pa.) who won the award after the first week of the season.
-The Retrievers will host their annual Homecoming game against Hartford on Saturday, October 13. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. at Retriever Soccer Park.
