Men’s Soccer Adds Elkahloun and Dao to Roster

2018 Roster

Baltimore, Md.—UMBC men's soccer head coach Pete Caringi Jr. announced the addition of transfer Ben Dao (Frederick, Md./Tuscarora/James Madison) and freshman Yassine Elkahloun (North Potomac, Md./Quince Orchard) for the 2018 season.

5-11 Midfielder
Frederick, Md./Tuscarora/James Madison

-Was a Third Team All-CAA selection last year, transferring in from James Madison University… Also earned Scholar Athlete Award in 2016 and Esmark All-American in 2015… Named Tuscarora Player of the Year his senior year of high school… Best performance came in a 2-0 win against America East foe Binghamton, where he scored both goals… Helped the Dukes win the CAA title during his time in Harrisonburg.


Yassine Elkahloun

6-0 Midfielder
North Potomac, Md./Quince Orchard

-Played club soccer for Baltimore Armour Academy, helping his team to a pair of consecutive playoff appearances… Was a part of the 2016 USYSA National Champions, scoring the game-winning goal in the semifinals.


UMBC opens the 2018 campaign against Temple at Retriever Soccer Park on Friday, Aug. 24. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.
